ON THE STREET INTERVIEW #1 -FEARLESS FARAH !!!!

THANK YOU FARAH FOR BEING MY FIRST ON STREET INTERVIEW- FROM A HORRORS FANS PERSPECTIVE- YOU ROCK FRIEND- I AM GRATEFUL FOR YOUR FRIENDSHIP AND YOUR TIME IN DOING THIS BRAND NEW ENDEAVOR ON MY BLOG!

JG - As a fan of the horror genre- what do you like and dislike about today's horror genre??

FF -I'm starting to get into a lot of foreign horror films. They're films actually concentrate on a lot more gore, which creates more of a shock value. I feel like everything has been done so, there's not much that is scary anymore. I love a lot of the foreign films that are out there. I also like what has been done with the zombie films lately....they're getting a lot more inventive. As far as dislikes, I'm really tired of the horror genre trying to remake every horror movie out there and failing miserably. They should just leave well enough alone! I'm also not a big fan of CGI....some is ok but, when you rely on it too much to make the movie, it just winds up looking fake. I always say, we all know monsters are fake but, for movies sake, do they have to look fake too? LOL

JG -the big questions that fuels arguments- how do you feel about the "remake"trend??

FF -LOL I guess I jumped ahead of myself in the first question, I really don't like remakes at all! I can only think of 3 off the top of my head that I like and those would be, I spit on your grave, The last house on the left & Dawn of the dead.

JG -what's your favorite generation of horror ? ( ex. 60s, 70s 80s and why!)

FF -That's a hard one because I've recently started to expand my horizon with early cult horror from the 50s, 60s & 70s but, I guess I would have to say the 80s, simply because those are the horror films that I grew up on :)

JG -now for the deep question- what about horror grabs you- that makes you wanna watch them?

FF -I was actually weened on horror. I can remember as far back as being a toddler at the age of maybe 3 or 4 and staying up late at night with my father and watching horror movies, it was our "thing". What I like most about horror movies is the adrenaline rush I get from a scary movie. I like movies that heighten my senses. Say for example, if I'm watching a horror movie with a lot of gore, if it can actually make me dry heave or make the bile rise in my throat, I'd say it's done it's job....I love it!

JG -has horror gone over the edge or deep end with sub-genres such as torture porn ? or is it another way to make a point or pure shock value ? What do you feel about this as a fan?

FF -Personally I don't watch torture porn, I don't even really think it's relative to horror. I would say it should be a sub genre to porn. Although, I'm sure it's scary and shocking, I don't believe it belongs in this field. War documentaries provide the same effect and they're not considered a sub genre of horror.

JG - What do you enjoy about the conventions?? What would you like to see more of at cons?

FF -I'm ashamed to say I've never been to one but, I'm hoping to attend my first one this year here in Phoenix, in October.

JG - now- tell me- after reading some of my interviews- and reviews- what things do you really enjoy seeing, and knowing- are there things that come across your mind you wish you knew about your favorite stars, or films??

FF -I really enjoyed this interview. The questions weren't your run of the mill kind of questions and I definitely enjoy reading your reviews, John! Keep up the good work! Thank you for interviewing me :D
